J pin 2 goes to a LIN bus with the J as the master. So you need to splice the wire into that bus, it won't be on the pin by itself. Both those LIN busses go to a variety of devices. I couldn't find anything regarding the expected way to splice in a device to a LIN bus. I'm not sure if it's ok to insert a splice between devices, or if it's expected to chain them only at the connectors. You're not going to be able to splice two wires into the terminal and have it go into the connector block, so I'm assuming mid-wire splice will be necessary.

As for the error, it could be either. Is your wiring tested? You have 12v on 4, ground on 3, connectivity to J plug T16b pin 4 on 2? If that all rings good, then it would seem to be the J unit itself. If you know anyone else with a B8, swap the J very easy to access and unplug and see if they now get an error or if you still get an error check your wiring first, don't go blowing up some buddy's J Does anyone have pictures of how the transponder bracket mounts to the grille?

Specifically, to an Allroad grille, but regular A4 may be the same. On a pre-facelift, the transmitter clips into a bracket that is attached to the rear of the grill by screws. So pre-facelift use that bracket screwed in behind the rings while facelift have a spot molded into the closing element of the bumper cover to hold the transmitter. To extend it to the RS mesh grills, it seems the same there based on what I can see.

No clue where or how it was secured. Tried wiring the damn thing but I hit a dead end so given that it's way past my bedtime, fuck it! Anyway, here's a couple of pics showing where the module sits Does this mean the J transmitter is faulty if so why would the LED not work? Also the transmitter is 8K0 C will this work in the UK? Once the indicator light starts to blink slowly you are ready to start training your homelink system.

The system is now in "training mode" and you will have 5 minutes to complete the process. Get out of your car and go to the front of your driver's side headlight the receiver is located just underneath the driver's side headlight.

Standing about 3 to 5 inches away from the headlight, press and hold the desired button that you wish to have programmed to your vehicle. If the programming has been accepted, you will see your hazard warning lights blink three times.

The means that the vehicle has accepted the code and programming was successful. Return to your vehicle and press the original button that you pressed in step 2 to begin programming. If the indicator light is solid after you press it then training is done and the code was accepted successfully. To program another remote, simply return to step 2 and follow the same process. Select "Vehicle Settings. Select "Garage Door Opener. Select "Program Garage Door Opener. Select the HomeLink button you would like to program.

The lights will blink 3 times to indicate the vehicle has learned the transmitter's signal. If the door operates, select "Yes" and the training is complete. If the door does not operate, select "No" and proceed to step Press and release the "learn" or "smart" button on the receiver motor head unit in the garage.

Return to the vehicle. Press, hold for 3 seconds, and release the trained HomeLink button. My Account Contact Us. Expand search. Home Products.
